This term, a selected group of Year 9 students had the opportunity to participate in the 6-week Iron Armour Program, an engaging and empowering wellbeing program designed to support young people in building resilience, self-awareness, and positive relationships.

The program, facilitated externally, provided students with a safe and supportive environment to explore important aspects of personal development. Through a range of interactive activities and guided discussions, students were encouraged to reflect on their strengths, develop confidence, and strengthen their ability to navigate everyday challenges.

A key focus of Iron Armour is equipping students with practical strategies to manage emotions, respond to adversity, and make positive choices. Throughout the sessions, students demonstrated increasing levels of engagement, maturity, and willingness to contribute, creating a respectful and collaborative group dynamic.

Students showed encouraging growth in areas such as communication, self-reflection, and teamwork. Students were particularly receptive to opportunities to share their perspectives, listen to others, and build connections with their peers in a meaningful way.

Programs such as Iron Armour play an important role in supporting student wellbeing and complement the broader pastoral care initiatives within the school. By fostering resilience and promoting positive mindset development, the program helps students build the confidence and skills needed both in and beyond the classroom.

We commend all students involved for their commitment and positive participation, and we look forward to continuing to provide opportunities that support their personal growth and wellbeing.
