It was a day everyone looked forward to, both campuses coming together to wrap up Cultural Week and celebrate the last day of Term 2. Our St Clare of Assisi campus was buzzing as we welcomed everyone from our St Catherine of Bologna campus, feeling less like an event and more like a big family get-together, full of laughter and a genuine sense of connection.
The day kicked off with a series of cultural performances presented to the whole school. Students shared dances and songs representing their backgrounds, while the audience cheered them on. You could feel the pride and enthusiasm as students celebrated their heritage.
Following the performances, everyone joined a parade in their cultural dress. The College grounds were filled with all kinds of colours and styles, and you could hear people explaining the stories behind what they were wearing. It was wonderful to see so many traditions side by side, and everyone supporting each other.
The afternoon was packed with things to do. There was face painting, food trucks, and students running around playing soccer or dancing. The grounds felt alive, staff and students were trying new foods, showing off painted faces, and just enjoying the moment.
A silent disco added a playful twist, with participants dancing to their own music through headphones, while chalk drawing encouraged creativity on the pathways with colourful designs. Gathering to watch the Socceroos match live was also an option for the enthusiastic World Cup fans.
It was the perfect way to wrap up both Cultural Week and the end of term. By the end of the day, everyone left with a renewed sense of pride in belonging to such a vibrant community.
