As we reach the midway point of Term 2, I find myself reflecting on just how much has been happening across Kolbe Catholic College. Each week brings new opportunities to connect with students, staff and families, and this term has been no exception.

Earlier this term, we welcomed Evan Mulholland MP and Brad Roswell, the Shadow Minister for Education, to our school. It’s not every day that we get to share what makes Kolbe unique with leaders who shape the future of education. Touring the grounds together, it was clear how much pride our community take in our learning spaces and the energy that fills them each day.

Hosting the SACCSS Executive meeting in our STEAM Building was another reminder of the wonderful facilities we now enjoy. Watching peers from other schools gather in a space designed for innovation and collaboration reinforced how important it is to provide the best possible environment for learning for our students.

I’ve also enjoyed spending time at both the St Clare of Assisi and St Catherine of Bologna campuses this term. There’s something very special about visiting classrooms and seeing students so engaged in their learning or greeting parents and carers at our recent very successful college tours.

Visiting our Year 7 students during their camp at Campaspe Downs was a real pleasure. Watching them climb ropes, tackle obstacles, and form new friendships across both campuses really captured the spirit of adventure and community that we value at Kolbe. The way they supported each other and embraced new challenges was genuinely inspiring.

We’re also making progress at our St Clare of Assisi campus (Greenvale). The construction of the new bridge linking the STEAM and Science buildings is moving along well, and I look forward to seeing how this will make life easier for staff and students.

Our recent Talent Show and Soiree were another reminder of the talent we have among our students. The Performing Arts team did a fantastic job bringing the event together, and the feedback from families has been wonderful. It’s always a joy to see students shine on stage and to celebrate their hard work and creativity.

Mother’s Day was a standout this year, with a record number of mums and carers joining us. The sense of community in the room was unmistakable, and it was heartening to see so many people come together to make the event a success, staff, the Parents & Friends Committee, our performers, and of course, our special guests all played a part. Events like this remind me how lucky we are to be part of such a connected and caring community.

As we look ahead to the rest of Term 2, I want to thank everyone for the energy and support you bring to Kolbe. There is so much to celebrate already, and I am excited about what’s still to come.
