Students across Year 10 and VCE Year 11 Physics have been busy exploring the fascinating world of electricity through hands‑on investigations and real‑world applications.
In VCE Year 11 Physics, students investigated renewable energy sources, examining how electricity can be generated sustainably using technologies such as solar and wind. Through research and discussion, students considered the efficiency, advantages, and challenges of different renewable systems, linking their learning to contemporary environmental and energy issues.
Meanwhile, Year 10 Physics students took on the major challenge of designing and building an electromagnet using only a copper wire and a battery. This practical activity helped students develop a strong understanding of electric circuits, current, and magnetic fields, while encouraging problem‑solving, creativity, and perseverance. It has been great to see students engaging enthusiastically with both the theoretical and practical aspects of electricity across year levels.
