As I step into the role of Acting Director of Performing Arts, I am excited for the opportunity to continue building on the incredible success and strong culture of excellence that has been established within the Performing Arts at Kolbe Catholic College. I would like to acknowledge the dedication of our Performing Arts staff, choir leaders, and private tutors, whose passion and commitment provide our students with so many opportunities to grow, perform and shine.

The Performing Arts continue to thrive across both campuses, with students embracing every opportunity available. Term 3 has already been filled with memorable events, and I am delighted to share some of the highlights.

Christmas in July Concert

On 24 July, students and staff visited Levande Retirement Village to present a Christmas in July Concert. The performance brought great joy and festive spirit to residents, with students and staff performing a range of much-loved Christmas favourites.

It was wonderful to see the smiles, laughter and sense of connection created through these performances. Our students represented Kolbe with pride, demonstrating not only their musical talents but also their generosity and commitment to serving the wider community.

We thank the residents and staff at Levande for their warm welcome and hospitality.

Turning of the Sod Ceremony

The St Catherine's Campus Choir was honoured to be invited to perform at the Turning of the Sod ceremony, marking an exciting milestone in the development of the new Performing Arts building at the Mickleham Campus.

This event was particularly significant as it was the first performance by the St Catherine's Choir as a standalone ensemble, comprised entirely of students from the St Catherine's Campus. The students performed beautifully and should be incredibly proud of the confidence and enthusiasm they displayed on such an important occasion.

Special thanks must go to choir leaders Jessica Campo and Lenisa Di Clemente for their dedication and hard work in preparing the students. As we look ahead to the completion of our new Performing Arts facilities, this event served as a wonderful reminder of the exciting future that lies ahead for Performing Arts at Kolbe.

Kolbe's Got Talent

Our annual Kolbe's Got Talent showcase once again highlighted the extraordinary talent that exists within our College community. Students from both campuses took to the stage to share their unique skills and abilities with their peers, creating an event filled with excitement, energy and school spirit.

From music and dance to a variety of other impressive talents, the audience was treated to a diverse range of performances that demonstrated the creativity and dedication of our students. Most importantly, every performer displayed tremendous courage in stepping onto the stage and performing in front of the entire school community.

I congratulate all students who participated and thank them for their willingness to challenge themselves and celebrate their talents. Events such as Kolbe's Got Talent provide invaluable opportunities for students to build confidence, develop their performance skills and inspire others to get involved in the Performing Arts.
