It has been a smooth start to Term 3 at St Catherine as the students continue to follow the routines they learnt during Semester 1. They have adapted calmly to the changes in the student management structures at the Campus.

While Mr Scully is on his well-deserved long service leave, Ms Revelman has stepped up to the position of Acting College Principal. Ms Revelman is running the College from the St Catherine Campus at least two days a week. Ms Lane has taken on the role of Acting Deputy Principal – Campus Director (St Catherine). I, Mr Crimi have taken on the role of Acting Director of Students and Ms Pafralis has been appointed as Acting Year 7 Level Coordinator. Your child’s Pastoral Teacher and I, along with Ms Pafralis, remain as your first point of contact should you wish to discuss a school related manner.

I hope that all parents have had the chance to check on their child’s Semester 1 progress by downloading the mid-year report. Please go through the report with your child and set some goals regarding progress in Semester 2. If you have any concerns about the semester one report or setting appropriate goals for Semester 2, I am happy to talk these through with you or your son/daughter.

Student activities have continued this term. Our SACCSS Chess Team finished mid-field in a Junior competition mainly made up of Year 8 students from other schools. Our IGNITE students attended an Italian immersion excursion to Lygon Street and surrounds. We also have two teams preparing to represent the College in the 2026 Tournament of the Minds.

The term highlight has been the current English Unit on persuasive writing where students develop their investigation, clear thinking and persuasive writing skills to solve the mystery of ‘Who Killed Harvey’?

Students excitedly awaited the Kolbe Feast Day. a wonderfully spiritual day, celebrating the life of St Maximillian Kolbe. The day also included ‘Kolbe’s Got Talent’, in which a number of St Catherine students performed.

It has been necessary to remind some students of the uniform requirements of the College. As a reminder, I would like to remind parents and students that;

  • The College Blazer must be work to and from school when students are in formal uniform
  • HPE uniform must only be worn on days when the student has a HPE class or is involved in SASCCSS inter-school sports.
  • In terms of jewellery, only a watch and one silver or gold sleeper or stud per ear. Necklaces are not to be visible over the uniform
