In this edition of The Spotlight Series we get to know Senior Student Services: Mrs Nabila Abu Khader.

Name:
Nabila Abu Khader.

What is your role at Kolbe?
Senior Student Services.

What does a typical day at Kolbe look like for you?
A typical day at Kolbe is very busy, particularly in the morning. This period involves managing parent phone calls regarding student absences as well as handling general enquiries. Throughout the day, I assist students, parents, and staff at the front office, responding to questions and supporting their needs. I also attend meetings to support staff by interpreting for families whose first language is not English, ensuring clear and effective communication. Additionally, I ensure that all staff have completed attendance rolls accurately and that every student has been properly accounted for. This is a small snap shot of what occurs.

What do you love most about working at Kolbe Catholic College?
What I value most about my work at Kolbe Catholic College is the opportunity to connect with students and make a meaningful difference in their lives each day. Being present for them, whether they are sharing their challenges or celebrating their successes. It really is deeply rewarding. I take great pride in offering guidance, support, and a listening ear whenever they need it, knowing that I can be a source of encouragement and stability.
The simple, genuine interactions mean the most to me: a warm “good morning” as they arrive, or a cheerful “have a great day, Miss” as they leave. These moments reflect the trust and relationships we build, and they are what make my role so fulfilling.

Elevating students is really about helping them grow. Not just academically, but as confident, capable individuals who feel seen and supported. It’s less about grand gestures and more about consistent, intentional actions that build trust and belief over time.

Love listening to music.
