Term 1 has been an exciting and important time for our Year 9 students as they begin their transition into Middle School. Students have embraced the new opportunities, expectations, and environment with enthusiasm, demonstrating a growing sense of independence and belonging within the College community.
A highlight of the term has been the Swimming and Athletics Carnivals, where students showed tremendous House spirit, participation, and encouragement of one another. These events continue to be a wonderful way to build connections and celebrate student involvement beyond the classroom.
Our Year 9 cohort also engaged meaningfully in their faith journey through the Opening Mass and Extended Pastoral Care sessions. These experiences provided valuable time for reflection, connection, and strengthening of House identity.
To conclude the term, students participated in Harmony Day celebrations, including an inspiring presentation from guest speaker Alice Pung. Her message encouraged students to reflect on identity, diversity, and inclusion, reinforcing the importance of respect and understanding within our community.
Overall, it has been a strong and positive start to the year, with students adjusting to change, settling in well and demonstrating a willingness to engage in all aspects of College life.
Term 1 has marked a significant step for our Year 10 students as they begin their transition towards Senior School. Students have been encouraged to take greater ownership of their learning and to consider future pathways, setting the foundation for their final years at the College.
A key highlight has been the Peer Support Program, where Year 10 students have taken on leadership roles in supporting our Year 7 cohort across both St Clare and St Catherine Campuses. Their ability to mentor, guide, and build positive relationships has been commendable and reflects the strength of student leadership within the year level.
Students involved in the Aspire Program have engaged in real-world learning experiences through excursions and an inquiry-based approach, with a strong focus on developing literacy and numeracy skills. This program continues to challenge students to think critically and apply their learning in meaningful contexts.
The Endeavour Program has also provided valuable hands-on opportunities, including a plastering course and the achievement of a White Card. These experiences are equipping students with practical skills and certifications, supporting pathways into the workforce and future vocational opportunities.
In addition, the Premier League sports competition has been a fantastic outlet for student engagement, teamwork, and school spirit throughout the term.Year 10 students have made an impressive start to the year, demonstrating maturity, leadership, and a strong commitment to both their academic and co-curricular pursuits.
