Tell us a little about yourself.
I am currently in my last year of high school and I plan on pursuing Forensic Science in University. This year, I am studying Chemistry, Legal Studies, Literature, Psychology and General Maths, as well as having already completed VCE Biology.
In my spare time, enjoy reading, writing, spending time will my 11 cats, as well as watching Starkid musicals.

What inspired you to take on a leadership role at Kolbe?
During my earlier years at Kolbe, I was fortunate enough to be able to call many of the previous student leaders and college captains my friends, and they have always inspired me to take initiative and pursue a leadership role within Kolbe, as well as having my own desire to inspire younger students and represent our school, making it a safe place for everyone.

What are the qualities or habits of a leader that you admire?
Qualities and habits that I admire in leaders is their courage to make a change and stand up for other people, their ability to take accountability, have empathy for all people and their situations, as well as always being transparent and adaptable.

How do you choose to emulate those same qualities as a leader?
I strive to emulate these qualities by being intentional in how I present myself. I work to create a safe space for everyone at school by speaking up when something needs to be addressed and by making myself a known presence to people, to make them more comfortable around me. I take responsibility for my actions, and I make it a point to learn from every experience or mistake I make. I lead with empathy by actively listening and considering different perspectives, and I value transparency by being honest and clear in my communication and intentions as a student leader. Lastly, I stay adaptable by remaining open to feedback and being willing to adjust when needed.

How do you aim to build connections and strengthen the community as a student leader?
As a student leader, I aim to build connections and strengthen the community by creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels heard and valued. I myself know what it feels like to feel left out or alone while at school, and I never want anyone else to feel the same way I did. Through smaller actions such as saying hello to other students, to attending school clubs and meeting students, it is my hope to ensure that everyone can feel safe and supported at school, both socially and academically.

What advice would you give to other students who aspire to become leaders?
My best piece of advice that I would give to other students who aspire to be a student leader is that the best leaders are true and authentic to themselves. Take the time to listen to your peers, be hands on in school activities, even ones that would not usually interest you.
A good student leader isn't just someone who 'rules the school', but someone who is willing to help others and make school the best place it can be for everyone.
