Thursday, 31 July marked a momentous occasion in our school community as we came together for the incredible Shave to Stop Cancer fundraiser. The event took place during a spirited whole school assembly, attended by 1,300 students and over 200 dedicated staff members. We are excited to share the remarkable success of this initiative, which highlighted both the bravery and unity of our Kolbe family in supporting critical cancer research through the Cancer Council.
The atmosphere in the stadium was electric, filled with excitement and camaraderie as staff and Year 12 students took a bold step by facing the clippers. This transformative event brought together individuals willing to sacrifice their hair for a truly worthy cause. Heads were shaved, hair was cut, and vibrant colours were sprayed—all aimed at raising awareness and funds for those courageously battling cancer.
A tremendous shout-out goes to Mrs Nicole Tatana from Student Services, whose tireless efforts helped coordinate this inspiring event. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Fadi Poulos, a Kolbe graduate now working at Epic Barbers, for his incredible support during the shave. Their dedication and commitment to this cause truly exemplified the spirit of our community.
Together, we’ve not only raised vital funds but also created lasting memories that reinforce our commitment to making a difference. The impact of this event goes beyond monetary contributions; it strengthens our community bonds and shows that when we unite for a cause, we can achieve great things.
Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, or supported in any way. Your bravery and generosity have made this day unforgettable, and together, we are one step closer to stopping cancer.
