As we settle into 2026, I want to take a moment to look back at some of the moments we’ve already shared together as a College Community. There’s been a real sense of growth, connection and celebration in these first few weeks and I’m pleased to highlight a few of the standouts so far.
A significant milestone for Kolbe was the opening of our new St Catherine of Bologna Campus in Mickleham. Under the leadership of Kelley Revelman, Deputy Principal - Campus Director, we welcomed our very first students and families on the first day of term. A moving smoking ceremony held in the afternoon was such a meaningful way to begin this new chapter and having so many families join us made it extra special.
We have also had the pleasure of welcoming new students and staff across both campuses. Our Year 7 Welcome Evenings at St Catherine and St Clare brought fresh faces and sparked new friendships, helping everyone to feel at home from the very start.
This term saw a historic moment for Kolbe as staff and students from both our St Clare and St Catherine campuses came together as one school community for the first time for Opening Mass and Assembly. We were grateful for Father George and Father Mahir who led the first Mass of the year and for the beautiful hymns of our College Choir. Following the mass, we recognised our outstanding achievers of the Class of 2025, especially our 2025 Duxes, Rhien Clement (Vocational Major Dux) and Emmauel Enwia (College Dux).
Our connection with community continues to strengthen as we warmly welcomed residents from Levande Highlands Retirement Village for a lunch and sing-along with our students. A special partnership that began last year truly enriches both communities and serves as an example of our strong community programs.
As we look ahead to the rest of 2026, I am excited for the journey we’ll share. We thank you for your support and your commitment to making Kolbe a place where everyone can continue to grow.
