An Update on Visual Arts 2022
The art rooms are a buzz with students creating all types of artworks. It is beautiful to have our students back enjoying exploring their ideas and abilities. Art classes from Year 7 are studying Paul Klee, an artist of the early twentieth century, while Year 8 Art students are learning about perspective, both linear and aerial.
Year 9 Art students have been working on mixed media grid enlargements which requires them to think both mathematically and artistically. Students have chosen an image to print and have ruled a grid over it. They then must redraw the image but enlarge it using the grid as a guide. The next stage is to use different materials to colour or shade their copy so new techniques and processes are learnt. We are all looking forward to seeing the results of these endeavours!
