As part of a four part Wellbeing series designed to give practical advice to maintain physical and mental health during their final year, Year 12 students attended a 50 minute Wellbeing Presentation on Diet, on Friday 24 March. Presented by Advanced Sports Dietitian Simone Austin, author of the book, 'Eat Like an Athlete', students were treated to the dos and don'ts of diet, designed to teach students which foods and eating habits maximise focus, energy and wellbeing. Simone was able to use her anecdotes, working as Lead Sports Dietitian at Hawthorn Football Club, her own lived experience as a practicing dietitian, and a parent with VCE children of her own.

Students engaged in interactive quizzes and were able to ask questions regarding their own diet and food questions. Families are encouraged to continue to explore the diet and eating habits of students ensuring students are eating breakfast, which surprisingly a large proportion of Year 12s are not, and to contact the school should you have any further questions or concerns regarding this.

Student's next wellbeing session will be on 'The Importance of Sleep' in May.
