Holy Week 2023

Sunday April 2- Saturday April 8

Loving God,

As we enter Holy Week we pray that it will be a time to grow as disciples.
May we know deep in our hearts the immensity of your love for us.
May our hope be rekindled in the midst of our own joys and sorrows, knowing that nothing can separate us from the love of Jesus the Crucified and Risen One.

Amen

At Easter, God finally reveals His glory: He takes away the last veil and astonishes us as never before. We discover, in fact, that God’s glory is all love: pure love, mad and unthinkable, beyond every limit and measure…True glory is the glory of love, because it is the only one that gives life to the world.

Faith and Community Term One News

As we begin Holy Week, we look back on the last few weeks of Term 1, 2023.

Romero House celebrated the Feast of Oscar Romero on the 22nd of March with a mass presided over by Fr. Dishan Canndapa. At the conclusion of the mass, students enjoyed a sweet treat before resuming their studies for the day.

Kolbe Catholic College was represented at the St. Patrick’s Day Mass as part of Catholic Education Week by our College Captains Grace Elisha, Caitlin Richardson and our Faith Captains Kiara Samtar and Mary Ann Shemiss. The students were a proud display of Kolbe Catholic College’s faith life. I also thank John Pettenon who was our bus driver for the day and attended the mass with the students and myself.

Students were invited to donate funds to support the work of Caritas in the aftermath of the earthquakes in Syria and Turkiye. Thank you to the PC teachers who supported this initiative and all the students for their generosity.

Finally, we conclude the term with our Easter Liturgy, recounting Jesus’ death and resurrection. Thank you to all those involved in making this a spiritually enriching experience, especially the readers and members of the choir.
