As the semester concludes, I congratulate all of the students who have been actively involved in the Performing Arts co-curricular program. The lunchtime activities each week have drawn large crowds. They have provided great opportunities for students to develop their skills in acting, singing, dancing and music whilst meeting new people and forming lasting friendships. It is pleasing to announce that the activities will continue into Term 3, with even more opportunities becoming available to suit people's interests and skill levels.

Performing Arts Opportunities in Term 3

Dance Club Before School:

I am pleased to announce that in Term 3, we are offering a before-school dance program. This will occur from 7:45am-8:15am in the Dance Studio. Students will be taught by a Year 9 student actively involved in professional theatre and overseen by teachers. All students are welcome. Registration is required by emailing lroso@kolbecc.catholic.edu.au

Kolbe Choir:

The choir is expanding and welcomes new members. The group is currently preparing for upcoming events, including masses and concerts. The weekly sessions are fun and cater to all skills and abilities. The choir rehearses at lunchtime on a Tuesday and has some extra voluntary rehearsals after school. Singing has many proven benefits, including helping with one’s happiness and wellbeing and being an enjoyable experience for all involved. Anyone interested in joining can contact Miss Roso.

Instrumental Music Program:

The Kolbe Instrumental Music program currently offers lessons in: Piano, Guitar (acoustic & bass), Drums and Vocals. Learning an instrument can significantly improve a person’s coordination, concentration, self-discipline, and presentation skills. If you believe your child would benefit from instrumental music lessons, please send an email to receive an enrolment form. Experienced and talented musicians teach the lessons. Please note a small fee is associated with the sessions.

Kolbe’s Got Talent:

Back by popular demand, Kolbe’s Got Talent will take place on Kolbe’s Feast Day - 14th of August. More information about registration will be sent to students at the start of Term 3.

The Performing Arts team encourages all students to participate in the college's co-curricular life and look forward to running the Term 3 activities.
