Success at Dante Alighieri Italian Poetry Competition 2023

We are thrilled to announce the exceptional achievements of our Italian language students at the Dante Alighieri Italian Poetry Competition held on Wednesday, 7th June at the University of Melbourne. Eleven talented students from Year 10, 11, and 12 showcased their linguistic prowess by reciting their chosen Italian poems, resulting in an outstanding display of talent and passion for the Italian language and culture.

The students' dedication and hard work paid off as each one of them was honoured with certificates of High Distinction or Honourable Mention. This remarkable achievement reflects their commitment to mastering the intricacies of Italian poetry and their unwavering determination to excel in their studies. Kolbe College is immensely proud of their accomplishments.

Furthermore, Kolbe College congratulates the four finalists who have emerged from a pool of 3,000 participants, earning the opportunity to compete for first, second, and third prizes in the upcoming term. Ardelina Zinghini, Charlotte Dulson, Celestina Soares, and Noah Gulifa have displayed exceptional talent and linguistic skills. The entire college community extends its best wishes to these students as they prepare for the final round of the competition.

Kolbe College would like to express its heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated staff who have worked tirelessly to prepare the students for this prestigious event. Ms. Testa, Ms. Ficarra-Rametta, and Ms. Bosco have provided invaluable guidance, encouragement, and support to the participants, fostering their love of the Italian language.
