I am very proud to be embarking on a new and exciting position as the Director of Performing Arts at Kolbe Catholic College. Performing Arts is an area I am incredibly passionate about, as it can increase confidence and motivation while also enabling students to explore their emotions, expand their imagination and make connections within the Kolbe community.
This year students have been exposed to a number of co-curricular opportunities, which have drawn many participants. This has included:
All year levels have been welcomed and it has been pleasing to watch new friendships formed as students work as a team to encourage and support each other through performance.
There are openings for individual music tuition in guitar, bass guitar, drums, piano and vocal. If interested, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me.
For students who prefer to take a behind-the-scenes role, a new opportunity has opened up. A Kolbe Sound/Audio Team will be formed in the coming weeks. Selected students will be involved in setting up and assisting at school events, enabling them to learn about the skills required to run sound, audio, lighting, and other technical elements.
I want to thank the incredibly skilled and talented team I work alongside daily for their dedication and time in setting up the school year. Also, to the many students who have enthusiastically attended the activities on offer and the staff who have assisted.
I look forward to sharing more about the Performing Arts opportunities and successes as the year progresses.
If you have any questions about the programs, please feel free to contact me.
