At Kolbe Catholic College we are proud of the different languages our students speak within our community. Last week, the College embraced our multicultural heritage by acknowledging the wonderful cultural attributes our students inherit from their families and the community at large. Lots of discussion took place in our classes about our culture and how blessed we are to belong to a multicultural society.

The students were exposed to a variety of activities at lunchtime to celebrate the Italian language, which is taught at Kolbe Catholic College. Students were able to play cards, participate in Karaoke where they could sing in their chosen language, multicultural dancing and mask making.

The Junior Italian Day for our Year 7 and 8 students facilitated a fun day where students watched the movies: Luca and the Lizzie McGuire movie set in Rome. The students also made masks and created a creative poster about an Italian monument. These were proudly displayed in their PC rooms.

Gelati vans were invited to our school, and even though it is our winter, it is never too cold to indulge in a gelati. A quiz was also completed by every PC and Ms. Ibrido, along with her 10G students, were the emerging winners.  A fantastic way to end Languages Week.

Thank you to our amazing school community, who embraced the week so enthusiastically. We look forward to 2024. Grazie e arrivederci. See you then!
