The recently concluded Intermediate Girls Football Gala Day showcased an impressive display of skill, teamwork, and determination by our Year 9 and 10 girls. The tournament saw the team participate in a series of exhilarating matches, culminating in a nail-biting grand final.

Tournament Highlights:

  • Grand Final Result: Lost by 1 point

Game by Game Breakdown:

  1. Match 1: Kolbe faced off against Thomas Carr in their opening game. With sheer determination and coordinated teamwork, Kolbe managed to secure a convincing victory with a final score of 16 to 9.
  2. Match 2: In their second match, we encountered a challenging opponent in CRC St. Albans. Despite our best efforts, we suffered a narrow defeat with a final score of 6 to 8.
  3. Match 3: Our third match pitted them against Antonine college. The team rallied together and executed their strategies flawlessly, securing a resounding victory with a final score of 13 to 0.
  4. Match 4: In our fourth match, we encountered Caroline Chisolm. Kolbe managed to secure a convincing victory with a final score of 22 to 7
  5. Grand Final: The grand final was a heart-stopping rematch showdown between Kolbe Catholic College and CRC St. Albans. Both teams displayed incredible determination and skill, making it a closely contested battle until the very end. Despite a valiant effort, we fell agonizingly short, losing by a mere 1 point with a final score of 8 to 9. Leesa Tarallo, Valentina Hanna and Maddison Berthelot had notable performances throughout the day.

Kolbe girls football is flying at the moment, with much excitement for what the future holds.
