As part of their Outdoor Education and Environmental Studies curriculum, the Year 10 class has been diving deep into the motivations behind our recreational activities. Recently, they took a break from the classroom and headed to Urban Surf in Tullamarine to explore the thrilling world of surfing in a controlled environment.
With waves specially designed for learning and fun, many students quickly found their footing, successfully standing on their boards and riding the waves. Their laughter and cheers echoed across the surf park, the joy of conquering the water, even if it was in a man-made setting.
However, the day wasn’t without its challenges. A few students grappled with mastering the technique of getting their feet onto the board effectively. It was a valuable lesson in persistence, as those who were more experienced offered tips and encouragement to their peers.
A fantastic day out, filled with laughter, learning, and a few wipeouts. The excitement doesn’t end here, as the students eagerly anticipate their upcoming camp in Term 4, where they will continue to explore the great outdoors and develop their skills further.
