21 SEPT 2026 Art With HeART

During the term, our community came together for another inspiring edition of Create and Connect Night, an evening dedicated to celebrating imagination, collaboration, and the joy of making art together. This year, our crafters found inspiration in the works of renowned artist Wassily Kandinsky, whose vibrant colours and abstract forms helped to set a lively, expressive tone for the night. In addition, we explored the striking beauty of silhouette art, encouraging participants to play with shape, shadow, and contrast in their creations.

When everyone arrived, the room was alive with chatter and energy. Tables overflowed with colourful paper, brushes and all sorts of supplies. Our helpers shared a bit about Kandinsky’s love for colour, then encouraged everyone to just go for it, no right or wrong, just creativity. Some people let their imaginations run wild with Kandinsky-inspired art, while others went straight for silhouettes, making bold shapes pop against bright backgrounds.

This year, the artwork created on bags had a special purpose. As part of the Handover HeARTwork program, these bags will be donated to the Northern Hospital Palliative Care Unit, spreading a little extra colour and care to people who need it most.
