Discover the Green Thumb Achievements of Year 9 Gardening Class!

This year, the garden has flourished under the diligent care of our Year 9 LEAD elective students.

The first group of students embarked on an exciting journey of plant selection, each contributing their unique choices to create a vibrant and diverse garden space. The subsequent cohort took charge, immersing themselves in the garden's maintenance and crafting innovative bird scarers under the guidance of Ms Stavrakis in Wood Technology.

Semester 2 was a whirlwind of activity as the students proudly harvested their homegrown vegetables and brought them to the kitchen. With hands-on experience, they transformed their bounty into delicious Fattoush. As the semester drew to a close, preparations for the upcoming year were underway. The class readied the garden for summer, planting low-maintenance crops that will greet next year's Year 9 gardeners with a thriving ecosystem.

This class learned invaluable lessons about maintaining a home garden, including the art of companion planting and the significance of composting.

Congratulations to our Year 9 LEAD Elective Gardening Class of 2023 for cultivating not just a garden but a shared sense of environmental stewardship and hands-on learning!
