One of the highlights of this term was our Cultural Day Assembly, a powerful celebration of the diversity, spirit and contribution of our students. In my address to the school community, I shared how proud I am of the way students are living out our College vision that “everyone grows.” The following excerpt from my speech captures just a glimpse of that pride and the collective effort that makes Kolbe such a vibrant learning community:

“In today’s assembly I want to celebrate the great work you are doing in this school. I asked some staff to provide names of students who are contributing to the great things that are happening at Kolbe. The following names that I read may be helping with a project to improve the school or they may simply be doing their best in class. Whatever the contribution, small or large, they are helping me to fulfil our vision that “everyone grows”

It is worth noting that I did this at the same time two years ago and 30 students were mentioned. Last year, staff forwarded over 90 names. In 2025, staff have named 280 students. There are so many that I don’t have time to tell you why they have been recognised but we have figured out another way to do this following the assembly.”

As we wrap up another term, I want to thank all students, staff and families for the energy, generosity and care you bring to our community each day. The growth we’ve seen, individually and collectively, is a testament to what’s possible when we all contribute in our own way.
