Prepare the way of the Lord!

As we approach the final weeks of Advent, we reflect on the final faith-filled events of the 2025 academic year.

Each of our year levels concluded their academic year with a celebratory mass. Thank you to Father Dishan and Father Samuel, who generously presided over these masses for our community. Our staff also gathered for their own concluding mass, a fantastic opportunity to gather as a staffing group to celebrate the Eucharist, in expectation for the coming of Jesus Christ.

Another highlight to conclude the year was our Year 8 Reflection Day. Firstly, thank you to Mrs Ruth Yousif for her leadership on the day, her organisation and scheduling enabled the day to be an absolute success. I congratulate the students on the way they engaged with the facilitators and activities, especially the opportunity to be thankful for key people in their lives.

Finally, the highlight for some of Kolbe students and many students and young people from across Australia was attending the Australian Catholic Youth Festival, here in Melbourne.

The festival was three days of enriching, reflective and times, very loud expressions of faith. I hope the students who attended will look back on their time at Kolbe and find this experience a significant moment in their faith journey. Thank you to the Kolbe students and staff who helped carry the World Youth Day Cross as part of the Pilgrimage Walk in the pouring rain on Sunday.
