Year 12 Students – VTAC Applications

VTAC applications close for timely applications on Thursday 28 September. All Year 12 students have had the opportunity to meet with either Mr Mackertich or Ms Williams this term to complete their VTAC applications, apply for Equity & Scholarships and discuss options/support available to students who wish to look at apprenticeship and work options.

Equity & Scholarship reminders: If you are applying for Equity - Special Consideration and/or Scholarships based on:

1. Financial Hardship
2. Medical/Disability
3. Difficult Circumstances

Please remember you will need to upload relevant evidence & supply your own statement.

1. Financial Hardship - requires an annual statement, or income report from Centrelink. It can be downloaded from your parents MyGov account.
2. Medical/Disability - requires you to write a statement on what the issue is, how long you've had it & how it EFFECTS your education & then for your doctor or treating health professional to also supply a statement, stating what the issue is, how long you've had it & how it EFFECTS your education.
3. Difficult Circumstances - requires you to write a statement on what the issue is, how long you've had it & how it EFFECTS your education & then for a responsible adult (over 21 yrs not living with you, for example a teacher, aunt) to also supply a statement, stating what the issue is, how long you've had it & how it EFFECTS your education.

These statements & evidence must be completed by Friday 9 October, but if you can upload your evidence prior to the 18 September, VTAC will look at it & if you need to supply more, will give you advice to do so. Any evidence uploaded after this date, may not be checked before the due date.

Applying for nursing or midwifery?
Once you have applied for a nursing or midwifery course via VTAC, you will be required to complete the ‘Nursing and Midwifery Declaration Form’. This is located in your VTAC account under ‘Making an Application’.

Initial Teacher Education - Victoria
Students planning to apply for initial teacher education courses in Victoria for the 2027 intake are required to sit the Casper test: CSP 10409 – Australian Undergraduate Teacher Education. Register for the test via https://acuityinsights.app/casper/

Applying for a course that requires a folio, interview, design task or audition?
Once you add the course/s to your Tertiary Admission Centre preference list and submit your application, you will be emailed information about the additional selection criteria you need to complete. Please ensure you are aware of the due dates – if you miss it, you can not get an extension or reschedule the interview.

Tax File Number (TFN)
If you don’t have a TFN, you will need to apply for one via the Australian Tax Office - www.ato.gov.au - Tax File numbers are needed when you begin work, to open a bank account & to enrol in further studies after Year 12.

VICTORIA POLICE – Career Starters Pathway
The Career Starters Pathway is a new initiative designed to provide a dedicated pathway for Year 12 students interested in a career in policing. The program allows eligible 17 and 18-year-old applicants to begin the recruitment process before reaching the current minimum application age of 18, supporting a smoother transition from school into a policing career. Participants will have access to a range of engagement and support opportunities throughout their recruitment journey, including familiarisation activities, mentoring and guidance from Victoria Police members, and regular touch points designed to maintain interest and engagement while progressing through the recruitment process.

• Applications Close: Sunday 25 October 2026
