On Tuesday 9 September, our Basketball Academy group had an unforgettable experience at Melbourne United that brought them closer to the world of professional basketball. This Day in the Life opportunity gave students a firsthand look at what it’s like to be a part of a top-tier basketball team.
The day was packed with amazing activities, starting with an on-court session led by Assistant Coach and former NBL champion Nathan Crosswell. Students were thrilled to practice their skills under the guidance of a true basketball expert, gaining valuable insights and techniques to improve their game.
Following the intense on-court action, the group took on a rigorous strength and conditioning program designed to challenge their physical limits and enhance their performance on the court. It was a fantastic way to learn about the importance of fitness and preparation in the life of a professional athlete.
To wrap up this incredible experience, students participated in a Q&A session with former Australian Boomer Brad Newley. Newley shared his journey through basketball, offering advice and inspiration that resonated with the students. His stories and insights provided a unique perspective on the dedication and determination required to succeed in the sport.
