To celebrate the end of a wonderful year of learning, our Year 8 IGNITE Italian class finished the term the Italian way - by cooking and sharing a bowl of steaming San Remo spaghetti topped with the much-loved Mutti Italian sauce.

The aroma filled the Food Room as students stirred, simmered, sprinkled and, of course, taste-tested their creations. For many, the highlight wasn’t just cooking, it was sitting together and enjoying this classic Italian dish as a group.

A special thank you goes to Miss Kai, who prepared the Food Room so beautifully for our lesson, and to Mrs Lucca, whose support allowed this experience to come to life. Grazie mille!

As we twirled forkfuls of pasta (just like tennis star Roger Federer, who is known to be both a pasta-lover and home cook) students shared laughs, stories, and reflections on the year. It was the perfect way to bring together culture, language and appreciation of Italian food.

Thank you Year 8I for your enthusiasm, humour and unforgettable energy throughout 2025. You have been a joy to teach - entertaining, spirited, and full of personality. What a buonissimo end to the year!
